ICIS is a highly specialized Center established in 2007 at the University of Insubria (Italy) and focused on international security issues and international cooperation projects.

The objectives of ICIS are to

- promote analysis, research and projects in international security;

- foster international scientific and technological cooperation in response to the global threats posed to non proliferation, sustainable development and human security.

A specific attention is given to:

- chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) Security at a global level;

- CBRN Risk Mitigation;

- Governance, Networking and Capacity Building.

ICIS is an international policy and scientific hub that implements projects for national (Italian MFA) and multilateral (EC) stakeholders so as activities on international security and safety, organizes round tables and conferences on strategic issues, promotes awareness, scientist engagement and exchanges among relevant stakeholders.
